Barb Baylor Anderson
Public Relations / Market Communications Expert
Barb Baylor Anderson is a marketing communications specialist from Edwardsville, Ill., specializing in writing, editing, public relations, media relations, audio/visual communications and economic analysis. She is a contributing editor for several publications and coordinates marketing and communications projects for several trade associations and other non-profits, small business and agricultural companies.
Prior to forming her business in 1991, Anderson worked for the American Soybean Association in several capacities, including director of communications. Anderson previously worked for Knight-Ridder Financial News at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the University of Illinois and for two Illinois radio stations as a reporter.
She has served leadership roles with the American Agricultural Editors Association and the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), and was honored in 1999 with NAMA’s national leadership award. Anderson also won an Oscar in Agriculture for her role in a series of articles for Progressive Farmer magazine, and has received awards for writing from NAMA and the Livestock Publications Council.
Anderson has a B.S. degree in agricultural communications from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in economics from Southern Illinois University. She is originally from Peoria, Ill., where she grew up on a diversified farm. She currently serves as her church’s treasurer, communications chair for the Children’s Museum of Edwardsville and is president-elect for the Junior Service Club of Edwardsville-Glen Carbon. |
