If your answer is yes to any of these questions, don’t feel bad. The majority of organizational leaders who are honest about their companies’ performances realize room for improvement always exists.
Let me share some of the steps we have taken to build a stronger future. I call it our “tune-up.” We began more than nine months ago by answering one basic question: What is our unique selling proposition?” In other words, what makes us special and different? The unequivocal answer was the combined expertise of our people and the vast scope of offerings our team utilizes to assist clients.
But something was still missing. We looked further at the common thread that had linked us together from the beginning. The light came on, and innovation rose to the top as the answer. All of our team members have unique perspectives and experiences with innovation. We began to refocus our efforts.
For the last six months, our team has researched and analyzed innovative companies dated back to the early 1900s. We have profiled the traits and approaches chosen by these organizations, and applied that information to our first-hand experiences. What we have come up with is a unique offering we believe sets us apart from the competition. “Lead with Innovation,” our fresh, tailored approach to helping clients achieve and leverage innovation.
As you can see from our experience, a tune-up can take time and resources. Results are not always easy to achieve, and a tune-up forces you to take an honest look at your organization and your future. I encourage you to make time for your tune-up. You may be surprised, but you won’t be disappointed.
